Choosing a career is one of the most important and tough decisions people will ever make in life. According to Confucius, "Find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life." It is absolutely true. If you are passionate about your work, you have more chances to succeed.

Well, choosing a proper career is a conscious decision of a grown-up person, and it is essential to explore job options that match your interests, skills and knowledge. It is absolutely wrong to chase your parents" dreams. If you are not interested to work in a field they want you do, always stand your ground. It is high time for you to decide for yourself what to do for living and to find your real calling. Moreover, when you make a choice, it is also important to get appropriate education that will give you all the necessary skills, knowledge and practical awareness.

Today there are a lot of job options to choose from out there. Anyway, the choice of professions depends on people"s individual abilities and talents. Some people have dreams of becoming a doctor and saving people"s lives, others like cooking and become master chefs. There are people, for instance, who like taking care of animals, and therefore become veterinary surgeons. Some people have a talent for painting and are not good at the other things. It is not difficult to guess that they become painters, designers or architects. All in all, today the most popular jobs are office clerks, policemen, teachers, waitresses, hairstylists, drivers and some others.

As far as I am concerned, I want to start my own business and open my own travel agency. I am too independent and enterprising to work for an employer. The idea of doing a nine-to-five job does not appeal me at all. One of the reasons I want to set up my own business or become self-employed is independence. To begin with, I can earn money working from home and spend more time with family and friends. Secondly, I can choose any work schedule that suits me best. Thirdly, if you are your own boss, you avoid the stressful daily commute and traffic jams. Furthermore, self-employed people tend to have an extended vacation. Finally, my success depends on me and my own decisions.

Some people think that getting a good salary is more important than having the job you really want. I am convinced that an enjoyable job equals a worthy salary. For instance, people can turn their hobby into a profitable business and earn decent money from home. Besides, people spend too much time at work and it is wrong to waste time on unpleasant things.

Выбор профессии - это одно из наиболее важных и сложных решений, с которым приходится столкнуться на определенном этапе каждому. Как сказал Конфуций: «Найди работу по душе, и тебе не придется больше работать ни дня в своей жизни». Это правда. Если ты любишь свою работу, то у тебя появляется гораздо больше шансов достичь успеха.

Итак, выбор профессии - это осознанное решение взрослого человека, и поэтому необходимо проанализировать все возможные варианты, чтобы твои знания, способности и интересы были максимально реализованы в работе. Ошибочно выбирать профессию, о которой мечтаешь не ты сам, а твои родители. Если тебе не интересно работать в той или иной сфере, нужно отстаивать свою точку зрения. Пора уже решить для себя, чем ты будешь зарабатывать на жизнь, и найти свое призвание. Более того, когда ты сделаешь свой выбор, также важно получить соответствующее образование, которое даст тебе необходимые умения, знания и практические навыки.

На сегодняшний день выбор профессий огромен. Но, так или иначе, все зависит от индивидуальных способностей и талантов человека. Некоторые мечтают стать врачами и спасать жизни людей, другим нравится кулинария, и они становятся шеф-поварами.
Есть те, кто, к примеру, любит заботиться о животных и, следовательно, становится ветеринаром. У некоторых есть талант к рисованию, но нет других способностей. Несложно догадаться, что они становятся художниками, дизайнерами или архитекторами. Так или иначе, сегодня среди наиболее популярных профессий можно выделить офисных служащих, полицейских, учителей, официантов, парикмахеров, водителей и других.

Лично я хочу открыть свое дело и учредить собственное бюро путешествий. Я слишком независима и предприимчива, чтобы работать на шефа. Меня совершенно не привлекает восьмичасовой график работы. Начнем с того, что я смогу зарабатывать деньги не выходя из дома и проводить больше времени со своей семьей и друзьями. Во-вторых, я смогу выбрать любой график, который мне больше всего подходит. В-третьих, если ты - сам себе начальник, тебе не придется стоять в пробках, добираясь на работу. Кроме того, у людей, работающих на себя, обычно более длинный отпуск. В конечном счете, мой успех полностью будет зависеть от меня и от моих собственных решений.

My Future Profession Doctor

There are many interesting professions, doctor is one of them. It is a necessary and noble profession, that is why I want to be a doctor.

To become a doctor I need to read a lot of specialized literature and to study hard, especially in biology and chemistry. This profession requires great responsibility because doctors deal with the most precious things people have - their lives and their health.

Doctors not only operate people and prescribe medicine, but they must also listen to their parents, check them up and sometimes make quick and important decisions. A doctor has to be a kind and attentive person, because if patients trust their doctor it is easier to work.

Sometimes working day continues even after a doctor comes home from the hospital. Relatives, friends or neighbors often ask for medical advice, for example how to lower the kid`s temperature.

There are different types of doctors: cardiologists, gastroenterologists, pediatricians, traumatologists and many others.

My father is a surgeon, he works in a hospital. Sometimes I visit him at the hospital and watch him working. My father tells me a lot of stories about doctors and their profession. He is a much-respected man and I am happy that I have such a good example in my family, I will do my best to become a good doctor just like my father.

Существует много интересных профессий и врач- одна из них. Эта нужная и благородная профессия, поэтому я хочу стать доктором.

Для того, чтобы стать врачом, я должен читать много специальной литературы и усердно учиться, особенно по химии и биологии. Эта профессия требует огромной ответственности потому что врачи имеют дело с самым дорогим, что есть у людей - их жизнью и здоровьем.

Врачи не только оперируют и прописывают лекарства, они еще должны слушать пациентов, осматривать и иногда принимать быстрые и важные решения. Доктор должен быть добрым и внимательным человеком, потому что если пациенты доверяют доктору, то работать намного легче.

Иногда рабочий день продолжается даже когда доктор приходит домой из больницы. Родственники, друзья или соседи часто просят медицинского совета, например, как сбить температуру у ребенка.

Есть разные виды врачей: кардиологи, гастроэнтерологи, педиатры, травматологи и многие другие.

Мой отец хирург, он работает в больнице. Иногда я навещаю его в больнице и смотрю, как он работает. Папа рассказывает много историй о врачах и их профессии. Он очень уважаемый человек, и я счастлив, что в моей семье есть такой хороший пример.
Я сделаю все возможное, чтобы стать таким же хорошим доктором, как мой отец.

Choosing a Profession
In this world man cannot live without doing a profession. He must have to do some sort of profession to maintain his livelihood. But which professions should he follow?

There are many professions in the world, such as the professions of doctor, engineer, professor, officer, teacher, soldier, clerk, peon, driver, conductor, jailor, collector, printer, publisher, welder, moulder, draftsman, machineman, policeman, milkman, oilman, fisherman, washerman, trader, shop-keeper and so on. It is very difficult for a man to choose the right profession for himself.

Choosing a profession is very difficult, no doubt. Because a man wishes to get a profession that carries high power, fat salary and high quarters with beautiful furniture. But he forgets to consider how far he is fit for this profession. How far he is able to do this work and whether he will like to do the nature of work allied with this profession. So, it is very likely that he may do a wrong choice of profession.

A profession which is right for one man be wrong for another. Because ability and aptitude differ from man to man. If a man takes up a profession for which he is unfit, he leads a life of unhappiness, inefficiency and frustration. Life becomes a burden to him. Suppose a man likes to sit and do clerical works but he joins the executive line only because that carries handsome pay, position and power. Consequently he proves misfit and feels miserable. So, he cannot prosper in his profession.

Choosing a profession, is no doubt important in one"s life. So, one should choose a profession after thinking over the pros and cons of it.

My Future Profession
Finishing school is the beginning of the independent life for millions of school leavers. Many roads are opened before them: vocational and technical schools, institutes and universities. But it is not an easy thing to choose a profession out of more than 2,000 existing in the world. Some pupils follow the advice of their parents, others can"t decide even after leaving school.

As for me, I made my choice long ago. I want to become a teacher of the Ukrainian language and literature. My choice of this occupation didn"t come as a sudden flash. During all school years literature was my favourite subject. I"ve read a lot of books by Ukrainian and foreign writers. I understand that reading books helps people in self education and in solving different life problems.

I would like to teach my pupils to enjoy reading, to encourage them to learn our national language and literature, which is the source of national culture. It is known that teaching is a very specific and difficult job. It shouldn"t be taken easily. The teacher is a person who is learning as well as teaching all his life.

Most jobs can be done within the usual office hours from 9 a.m. till 5 p.m., but teacher"s work is never done and evenings are usually spent in marking exercise-books and preparing for the next lesson.

It"s not as easy as it may seem at first. But I think that love for children combined with the knowledge I"ll get at the University would be quite enough to succeed in my work.

Окончание школы — это начало самостоятельной жизни для миллионов выпускников. Перед ними открыто много дорог: профучилища и техникумы, институты и университеты. Но нелегко выбрать одну профессию из 2000, существующих в мире. Некоторые ученики следуют советам своих родителей, другие же не могут сделать выбор даже после окончания школы.

Что касается меня, я сделал(а) свой выбор давно. Я хочу стать учителем украинской литературы и языка. Мой выбор этой профессии не был неожиданностью. Все школьные годы моим любимым предметом была литература. Я читал(а) много книг украинских и зарубежных писателей. Я понимаю, что чтение книг помогает людям в самообразовании и в решении разных жизненных проблем.

Мне бы хотелось научить детей получать удовольствие от чтения, помочь им выучить родной язык и литературу, который является источником национальной культуры. Известно, что профессия учителя особенная и трудная. К ней нельзя относиться легкомысленно. Учитель — это человек, который учится сам и учит других всю жизнь.

Большинство работ выполняется в обычные рабочие часы с 9 утра до 5 вечера, но работа учителя никогда не заканчивается, и вечера обычно заняты проверкой тетрадей и подготовкой к следующему уроку.

Это не так легко, как кажется на первый взгляд. Но я думаю, что любовь к детям, соединенная со знаниями, которые я получу в университете, поможет мне преуспеть в работе.

The matter of choosing a career

I’m going to tell you about my future profession. There are two most important things in anyone’s life: choosing a career and getting a job. Some pupils know what they are going to do after leaving school but for others it’s difficult to give a definite answer about their future profession. We get to know about a wide range of professions from magazines and advertisements and then we make either our own choice or follow our parents’ advice as they are also concerned about our future.

Choosing a career

When choosing a career one should take into consideration all the possibilities that it might provide. First of all, it should be interesting. Secondly, one has to be sure to be able to find a good and well-paid job after graduating. Another important factor that influences the choice of the profession is our abilities to different disciplines. One has to analyze thoroughly which things or subjects he or she is good at, and only then make a final choice.

I want to be an interpreter

As for me, since my childhood I’ve known I want to be an interpreter. My choice is closely connected with the importance of foreign languages and cultures which is growing nowadays. Foreign languages are needed for communication with people on our planet. I believe that among all, English is the most universal and widely spread. It’s an official language in a vast number of countries. Besides, it’s the language of international aviation, sports, medicine, the language of science and technology, trade, cultural and business relations.

Conclusion

I’m quite aware that the job of an interpreter isn’t an easy one. You have to be very communicative and responsible. Moreover, be prepared to work long hours and move around a lot. But on the other hand you’ll have a chance to travel to different foreign countries and to meet a lot of interesting people. I think this profession is worth taking up. Being a student of the University I pay special attention to English and try to work hard. I hope I’ve made the right decision.
